Writing and Editing by Latin American music expert Russell Slater

About Me

I write about music and culture (mainly from Latin America) for a number of websites and publications, as well as working as a publisher, editor and music consultant.

I founded Sounds and Colours, a website devoted to South American music and culture, in 2010. Since its beginning Sounds and Colours has expanded to become a publisher and record label, releasing a number of books and albums focusing on Latin American culture.

I regularly contribute to Sounds and Colours and Songlines, and have written for publications including Huck, The Wire, Makeshift, fRoots, The Quietus and Time Out São Paulo, amongst others.

I also work as a music consultant for brands, agencies and organisations wanting a better understanding of Latin American music.

You can see a comprehensive record of my work history at whatslater.com/work.
